Gas Turbines
The two General Electric 9FAe+ model gas turbines have four main parts on the same shaft:
1. Air Compressor
2. Combustion Chambers
3. Turbine
4. Generator
Filtered air is pressurized through an 18-stage compressor to 14 bars and its temperature reaches to about 380°C due to this compression. The hot and pressurized air is fed to combustion chambers to burn the natural gas supplied there. The Combustion gasses reach a temperature of 1380°C. This hot gas mixture passes through a 3-stage turbine and it rotates the rotor. This rotational mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy at the generator mounted on the same shaft with the compressor and the turbine.
